Today, I did a December new thing that satisfied my crafty self. Along with my friends, Wanda and Karen, I took a Christmas wreath making class at a local garden center. This was a crowd familiar with hot glue. We stood at a table with a "naked" wreath of fresh greens in front of each of us. Our teacher, Anita, allowed us each to choose three ornaments, a couple of pine cones, three sprays of glittery artificial berries, and a big elaborate bow. We hauled our loot back to the table and started the creative process of arranging and adhering. I thought I had my wreath all prettied up when Anita stopped by the table. She took off the pine cones, swapped out a couple of red balls for silver ones, dismantled my berry sprays and moved them around, and presto chango, I had a finished wreath.
New thing number one for December is down, and it was a whole lot of fun.
